Bogota, the Christmas light.

This year, Bogotans  will be able to enjoy the Christmas season, with many  events that Town Hall had established from December 1st to 16th. The programming has shows like concerts, guided visits, artistic expositions, novenas, and pyrotechnic games.

The first day, the citizens can pick out between see the lighting show at Bolivar’s Plaza or in more than 73 points in the city, giving the start of a Bogota, full it of brightness. Some of these 73 authorized places to carry on shows before mentioned, are in the principal squares, parks and avenues in all the localities of Bogota.  


From December 2nd onwards, each point will have a special activity to do.  Bogota will be divide in 4 parts according the zone. For example, the central zone will have illuminated The Independence Park, National Park and Bolivar’s Plaza. In the same sense the south, west and north zone along the capital city.


The three principals’ activities to enjoy are: artificial snow, water show and bubble show, that will be witnessed in the south and west zone. These shows will appear every 30 minutes since 6 o’clock till 11 o’clock, every night until December 23th.   


More than 7 million bulbs, and 300 kilometers of light hose will turn it on from this Saturday, until January 12th of 2013.


Some recommendations to these activities:


  • ·        Look out with the meeting points to not get lost
  • ·         Do not throw garbage to floor
  • ·         Keep your personal stuff safe
  • ·         Talk over with your accompanist about a route to follow
